KWSG RELEASES FUNDS FOR AUGUST SALARY, PENSION

The Kwara State government has released funds for the payment of salaries and pensions for the month of August, 2016.

The State Commissioner for Finance, Alhaji Demola Banu, who made this known in a statement on Thursday, noted that State workers and pensioners will start receiving their August salaries and pension arrears as from Friday, 2 September.

According to a breakdown provided by the Commissioner, the Civil Service Commission received the sum of N513, 478, 808.25; Teaching Service Commission got N532, 959, 848.18, while the sum of N462, 638, 864.38 and N150, 000, 000 was released for pension arrears and gratuities respectively.

Alhaji Banu disclosed that the sum of N86, 996, 422.00 was released as the last quarterly subvention to the state-owned colleges of education for 2016 According to him, fund for the overheads of Ministries, Departments and Agencies in the State was also released.

He gave assurance that the State government will continue to do everything possible to ensure that salaries, pensions and overheads are paid promptly, despite scarce resources.
