Ahmed seeks support of Kwara royal fathers on primary school education

Kwara State Governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed has called on traditional rulers in the State to assist the state government in promoting qualitative primary education through regular monitoring of primary schools in their domains. Governor Ahmed made the call when traditional rulers from Kwara South Senatorial District paid him a ‘Thank You’ visit on the recent elevation of four traditional rulers from the zone to first class status.

In a statement issued on Monday by Abdulwahab Oba, Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Ahmed noted that if the traditional rulers have good synergy with the state Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development the monitoring of primary school teachers and quality of education at that level would be better.

Ahmed also implored the royal fathers to assist the state government in the quest for less dependence on revenue allocation from the federation account through the promotion of agriculture on a commercial and inclusive platforms.

According to the governor, since the royal fathers are custodians of the values of their communities they are better positioned to encourage their subjects to be actively involved in agriculture as business.Ahmed, promised the traditional rulers that his administration would support their communities in land acquisition, cropping and other enabling strategies in the quest to transform Kwara State into agriculture hub in the country.

Earlier, the Olofa of Offa, Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi Esuwoye II, who spoke on behalf of his colleagues, said the traditional rulers were on the thank you visit in appreciation of the elevation of four of their colleagues from the south senatorial district to first class status. Oba Gbadamosi also commended the governor for appointing sons and daughters of Kwara State into various positions of his administration.
