Ahmed Decries Inciting Comments in Kwara

Date: 2016-07-20

The Governor of Kwara State, Abdulfatah Ahmed, has cautioned politicians in the state against making inciting statements on hardship faced by some workers due to the state's inability to pay their salaries.

He said that the situation whereby some workers in the state have not been collecting their salaries would soon be a thing of the past. Ahmed, who stated this during the presentation of First Class staff of office to eight newly upgraded traditional rulers in the state, hinged his optimism to end the situation on the ongoing verification of staff, reform of internal revenue generation mechanism and proposed takeover of funding of junior secondary.

"These immoral and unpatriotic attempts to gain political capital from the plight of workers affected by the huge drop in allocation to all tiers of government in the country must be condemned and resisted by all stakeholders, including traditional rulers," he said.
