Kwara governor Ahmed sues for religious tolerance and peace at Eid-el-Fitri

Date: 2016-07-07

Kwara state governor Abdulfatah Ahmed has urged the Muslim faithful to imbibe peace and tolerance during and after the Eid-el-Fitri celebrations. He also assured Kwarans that a brighter future awaits them and that the present economic travail is only but a passing phase.

"As Muslims celebrate Eid-el-Fitri, I call for tolerance, perseverance, and love for one another as basis for a peaceful and prosperous society", he said. "Honesty, resilience and piety are critical lessons of Ramadan which are also crucial for societal growth.

"I therefore urge Kwarans to see the current national economic travail as transitory. Indeed, the future is bright and promising. "I encourage religious leaders to continue to preach the message of peace and religious tolerance among the citizenry so we can harmoniously build a great nation.

"I pray Allah to reward all the good deeds that have been done in the holy month in multiple folds and wish all Muslim ummah more wisdom and piety to witness more of the holy month."
