Commissioner Urges FG To Reconstruct Ohan, Moro Bridges In Kwara

Date: 2016-05-22

The Kwara State commissioner for Works and Transport, Alhaji Aro Yahaya, has urged the federal government to reconstruct the Ohan-Bailey and Moro Bridges on llorin-lgbeti road to ease vehicular movement on the inter-state road.

He made the call in an interview with LEADERSHIP Sunday in llorin, the state capital after inspecting the two bridges which he described as death traps.

Yahaya said the reconstruction of the bridges which link Kwara with Oyo State had become imperative in view of its economic importance to the people of the two states and pointed out that the state of disrepair of the bridges was affecting socio-economic activities of residents of both states.

The commissioner said the bridges when re-constructed, will ensure easy transportation of farm produce and free flow of traffic.

LEADERSHIP Sunday recalls that the two bridges were previously rehabilitated many times by engineers from the second mechanised division of the Nigeria Army, Sobi, llorin and the Kwara state government.
