Date: 2012-07-03

The Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, has approved the immediate reduction of the cost of registration cards at primary health care centres in the state from N200 to N20.

Making the announcement in Ilorin, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on primary health, Prof. Babatunde Opabola, said the approval was in liine with the current administration's efforts to ensure 500 meter access to quality affordable health care under Shared Prosperity.

He described the approval as a timely intervention in view of the low utilisation of primary health centres, stressing that with the reduction more people will now have access to affordable quality healthcare, especially at the grassroots.
