FA Cup: Oladimeji praises Kwara Utd players, officials
The Chairman of Kwara United Football Club, Prince Oladimeji Thompson has charged the Nigeria national League side to brace up for the challenge of a positive campaign in the 2016 Federation Cup.
While addressing the players and officials of the team yesterday during their morning training session at the Kwara State Stadium Complex, Prince Oladimeji commended the team for qualifying for the State FA Cup final, and also picking a Federation Cup ticket.
Kwara United defeated Lubcon FC 2-1 in the semi-final of the competition on Monday, and will play Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) Ilorin Football Club, which also defeated Kwara Football Academy 2-1 in the second semi-final on Tuesday, in the final on Sunday.
The two teams will represent the state in the Federations Cup. He charged the team to continue to do well, as the state government is fully committed to the team.
He also charged them to ensure that the team gain promotion to the elite league at the end of the season, to justify the support of the government and the good people of the state.
Prince Oladimeji promised that the team will be fully motivated to achieve the set target of returning to the Premier League. He averred that winning the FA Cup trophy on Sunday will be a stepping stone to many things to come, adding that the team needs to break the jinx of the Federation Cup this year.
