Maja warns against rumour in Kwara
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, Alhaji Sulyman Kayode Yusuf, yesterday urged workers in the North-Central state to cooperate with the government in fashioning out the lasting solutions to the lingering crisis of non-payment of salary arrears, particularly as it affects Local Government Council workers and teachers.
Yusuf, in a statement made available to journalists in Ilorin, the state capital, also advised residents to shun rumours over the lingering salary crisis, even as he argued that neither the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki nor Governor Abdulfattah Ahmed should be blamed for the situation that is affecting close to other 23 states of the federation.
Yusuf, a former chairman of the state's Local Government Service Commission, argued that contrary to insinuations in some quarters, Saraki as Senate President is working seriously to make the promising change of the ruling party realisable.
He called on stakeholders in the state such as traditional and religious leaders to rise up to the challenge of re-orientating the people on the values of truth and patience.
