Kwara governor meets with leaders on Share/Tsaragi communal clash
The Kwara State Governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed says he will strive to create permanent peace in Share and Tsaragi communities.
Governor Ahmed stated this on Wednesday at separate meetings with Elders from Tsaragi and Share communities where violence erupted recently.
The Governor who described the Elders as opinion moulders urged them to create a sense of congruence among youths in the two communities to embrace peace and live in harmony. The Governor warned that his government would not accept violence and impunity in any part of the state.
Governor Ahmed who advocated mutual trust among residents of the two communities advised them to accept to live together peaceful in order to bring development to their respective communities.
He assured that his government would implement recommendations of the Administrative Panel headed by the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari and the Judicial Commission of Inquiry headed by Justice Sulaiman Akanbi with a view to finding lasting solution to Share-Tsaragi communal clash.
In his response, the Leader of the Team and Wali of Tsaragi, Dr Muhammad Haruna assured that Tsaragi community would imbibe peaceful co-existence for the growth and development of the area.
Also in his response, the Asiwaju of Share, Muhammad Lawal described the incident as the handiwork of few individuals and assured that Share community would continue to live in peace with all its neighbours.
