Kwara Govt directs striking tertiary institutions' workers to resume work
The Senior Special Assistant to Governor AbdulFatah Ahmed on Media and Communication, Dr Muyideen Akorede gave the directive while speaking with newsmen in llorin.
He said the state government was making effort to settle the arrears of monthly subventions for the four institutions.
The governor’s aide said the government was incapacitated to pay subventions following drop of the monthly federal allocation
Akorede said “the government is waiting for payment of the remaining bailout from the federal government for the settlement of subventions of the four institutions and other parastatals in the state.
He advised the institutions to improve on their internally generated revenue to pay workers salary.
He directed the striking workers to resume work while the government is making effort to settle the subventions arrears.
