Three Held Over Possession of Human Parts

Date: 2015-09-01

Three suspects, Kamaldeen Bolaji, Musa Mohammed and Sumonu Garage were yesterday remanded in prison by a Magistrate's Court in Ilorin, Kwara State, over possession of human parts.

It was gathered that the case was transferred from Agbamu Division to the Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department Ilorin.

The police First Information Report stated that on August 14, one Akeem Azeez, a member of a vigilante group in Olote village arrested Kamaldeen Bolaji and Mohammed Musa in a bush with the human parts.

It was further gathered that the suspects confessed that they exhumed the corpse of one Hakeem Zubair from the grave yard at the village and severed his head and two hands.

They further confessed that their herbalist (Sumonu Garage) asked them to provide human parts for a ritual that would make them rich.

The prosecution said: "Police investigation revealed that Kamaldeen Bolaji, Mohammed Musa and Sumonu Garage criminally conspired together to use human parts for money rituals".

Magistrate Jibril Saliu ordered that they should be remanded at the Federal Prison Yard Oke-Kura, Ilorin before he adjourned the case for further mention.
