Corruption: Buhari Urged Not To Spare Looters
President Muhammadu Buhari has been urged to further look inward towards ensuring that adequate sanction is meted out to looters of the nation’s treasury so as to serve as deterence to similar characters.
The Youths' Promoter Vanguard (YPV), in a statement signed by its National Coordinator, Comrade Adebayo Otunola Awoniyi, in Ilorin on Tuesday, expressed confidence in President Buhari's anti -corruption crusade ?in a bid to enhance peoples' oriented programmes.
He also disclosed that tackling corruption in our dear nation is as important as striving towards the survival of the souls of over 170 million citizens of the country whose major desire is nation-building, massive youth employment and economic recovery, among others.
According to him, "Corruption is not only criminal, but it is also and evil force that deserve mass destruction by a corrupt free leadership, in order to achieve the numerous campaign promises which further exacerbated the need for change of government during the last general election.
"I therefore urge Nigerians, irrespective of their ethnic, religious and political affiliation to respect and support Mr. President’s anti -corruption strides, in order to build a virile economy in the interest of peace, progress and development of the country. No looter of our wealth should be speared because their devilish act has further dashed the hope and future of Nigerian youths."
"Nigeria as a country, is greater than any individual or group and it is my plea that no one should do anything to rock the boat of peace in the country thereby drawing us back to the dark days."
?The group, however, seek for synergy between the presidency and the National Assembly as part of move towards achieving the much desired change expected by Nigerians.
While commending the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC)?, Comrade Awoniyi also lauded former Lagos State governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, for his painstaking efforts towards the victory of the party in the 2015 general election.
