Kwara lawmaker weeps at valedictory session
Majority Leader of the Kwara House of Assembly, Alhaji AbdulKareem AbdulGaniyu, yesterday wept while speaking at a valedictory session held to mark the end of the session. The Majority Leader, who has spent eight years in the House, said he was sad because he was parting with his colleagues.
He described Kwara House as one of the vibrant assemblies in Nigeria, and urged the incoming members to sustain the tempo.
He hailed the Speaker of the 7th Assembly, Mr Rasaq Atunwa, for what he called his sterling leadership quality.
Also speaking, the Deputy Speaker, Professor Gana Yissa, thanked the Speaker for providing purposeful leadership which he said brought honour to the House.
He urged the incoming members to consolidate on the achievements recorded. All the 18 outgoing members of the 7th legislature expressed gratitude to God and APC leader in Kwara, Dr Bukola Saraki, for the opportunity to serve.
