ESSPIN to provide twenty schools with portable water

The Education Sector Support Programme in Nigeria (ESSPIN) has promised to provide potable water and sanitation services to twenty selected Primary and Junior Secondary Schools in Kwara State in collaboration with the State Water Supply and Sanitation Agency being the first phase of 100 boreholes to be drilled.  

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to this effect has already been signed between the organization and the Kwara State Government.  

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Commissioner for Water Resources, Alhaji AbdulMumini Sidiq Katibi, reiterated the preparedness of the State Government to support any meaningful programme designed by individual or corporate bodies to enhance the living standard of the people.  

Alhaji Katibi commended ESSPIN for its good gestures and foresight at creating conducive atmosphere for teaching and learning in public schools and expressed confidence that the provision of water to these selected schools would go a long way to enhance the educational development of the State.  

In her remarks, the State team leader of the organization, Mrs. Eunice Oladimeji said the project would be executed in collaboration with the Kwara State Water Supply and Sanitation Agency.
