Gunmen attack Kwara PDP gov candidate's convoy

Date: 2015-02-04

Gunmen, suspected to be thugs on Monday attacked the campaign convoy of PDP Governorship candidate, Senator Simeon Ajibola, in Kwara at Oke Oyi, Ilorin East Local Government Area.

The attackers, according to PDP Publicity Secretary in the state, Chief Rex Olawoye, escaped with N250, 000 from Ajiola’s jeep.

Olawoye, who made this known in a press statement on Tuesday, said the gunmen also shot at the Director General of the campaign, Mr John Dara and that the matter had been reported to the police.

He also said that a supporter of the party, one Ayesoro from Share suffered machete wounds at Maraba, Ilorin sometime in January for his refusal to hoist the APC flag on his vehicle.

“We abhor violence in all ramifications and we plead with all our members and supporters to shun violence and embrace peace at all time”, he said.
