OPINION - Kwara 2015: Now is the Time. By Titilope Anifowoshe

Date: 2015-01-29

Fellow Kwarans,
Who will be the captain of our harmonious ship?
The time has come to choose between the "boy" and the "man"
The “boy” or the "man", whom do you choose?
Ok. Meet the duo:
The “man” has total control of his game, the “boy” plays his game subject to the directives of his father.
The “man” engages in his dealings with the people in his heart, the “boy” runs his deals with the fear of his father in his heart.
The “boy” cares about impressing his father than the people, the “man” cares more about posterity.
Unfortunately, the “boy” has carelessly paddled our canoe for a while, NOW we are at the brink of sinking,
We know not of this, but the fact is: we have been blindfolded by their magic broom wand spell.

Now is the Time!
Say No to Political Slavery!
Frown at caricature developmental projects!
Detach yourselves from the agents of stunted economy!
Straggle away from the road to perpetual poverty.

Your individual votes can make a sword,
Your sincerity is stronger than a shield,
Your sword and your shield is enough to break the destructive broom in Kwara.

I am well abreast with the fact that you don’t have billions in your account.
That you own singular property abroad, I doubt it.
That your kids and kin attend the dilapidated schools they brag to provide us, I'm quite sure.
Perhaps you are even one of the earners of the meager salaries they subject us to, there is every probability.
I know that you do not have any affiliation to the Jagaban of Africa. I'm Indisputable.
Now is the time to revolt!
Now is the time to open your Mouth!
Now is the time change the man-made destiny!
Another four years definitely, might ruin up everything.

Yes I know that you are not politically inclined,
Of course I know that your father owns no political dynasty,
But this is far beyond politics,
It’s a fight for our unborn children
It’s a race for posterity
It’s a fight for all
Now is the time!

You need not get guns,
You need not purchase cutlasses,
You do not even need to visit your herbalist,
All you need is a rectangular shaped card,
All you need is the strong-will to make a change,
All you need is the zeal to get rid of their destructive broom.
Your strength is your ability to spread the news,
You need not study or engage in extensive research,
Your evidence is the state of affairs of our beloved Kwara,
Now is the Time.
