Kwara promises aviation college two aircraft
The Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, has said the state government will buy two additional aircraft for the training of students of the International Aviation College, Ilorin, in line with the international best practices.
A copy of the state government’s 2015 budget proposal made available to our correspondent in Ilorin on Tuesday indicated road infrastructure would be one of the priority areas of this administration.
The governor said the state government had continued to ensure the provision of quality and standard road infrastructure in the state.
According to him, N4.76bn will be expended on road work and the transport sector in 2015.
He added that efforts would be geared towards the completion of the ongoing road projects by the administration.
Ahmed said, “In line with international best practices, attention will be focused on further equipping the International Aviation College by purchasing two additional aircraft for practical training of students.
“There are some expedient road projects to be executed in the 2015 financial year to boost the socio-economic life of the area and its people.
“These include the 62 kilometre Kaiama-Kishi Road in Kaiama LocalGovernment Area; the 32.8 kilometre Ilesha-Baruba-Gwanara Road Phase I in Baruten LGA; the17 kilometre Arobadi-Maigida Road in Moro LGA and the 7.5 kilometre Egbejila-Asa Dam Road in Ilorin West LGA.”
He gave other road projects as the 2.65 Kilometre Oke-Opin township road in Ekiti LGA; the 1.2 kilometre Old Garage Central Mosque Road, Lafiagi in Edu LGA; the one kilometre Ogbondoroko township road in Asa LGA and over 15 rural roads.
