Kwara butchers to work for APC
The Kwara State Chapter of the Nigerian Butchers Association has promised to work for the success of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in all categories in the forthcoming general elections.
They made the pledge during their visit to Mandate 2015 Campaign Office of the party in Ilorin.
Leading the hierarchy of the association in the state, its Chairman, Chief Toyin Badmus disclosed that the decision was taken in view of the immense support of the late Waziri of Ilorin, Dr Abubakar Olusola Saraki and the state government to the body.
The association noted with delight that the state government had empowered artisans in the state which according to them, made them contribute significantly towards the socio-economic emancipation of the state.
The butchers promised to mobilise eligible voters to cast their votes for the APC and called for more empowerment of their members to further enhance their wellbeing.
Responding, the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly and Director-General of Mandate 2015 Campaign, Barrister Razak Atunwa praised the association for its support to the party and the state government.
Atunwa who described them as great mobilisers, explained with delight that the state government had embarked on numerous empowerment programmes to better the lots of artisans in the state and assured that the APC led government would consolidate on its performance if re-elected in next month's general elections.
The Speaker assured that the needed change in the country would be effected if General Mohammadu Buhari is voted into power this year and lauded the association for the honour bestowed on him last year.
He urged them to work for the success of the party in the coming polls.
