Kwara Governor condoles IPMAN, charges FG on bad roads
In a condolence message on the death of three members of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association, Ilorin depot and another woman in two separate automobile accidents along the Ilorin-Old Jebba Road in Ilorin, Kwara State, Dr. Abdulfatah Ahmed, the governor has called on the Federal Government to live up to its electoral promises by repairing all federal roads in the state in order to protect the sanctity of lives of Nigerians.
The governor also appealed to the Federal Government to refund the money the state government spent on the construction and rehabilitation of federal roads across the state in order to free up more funds to finance developmental needs of the state.
In the condolence message, Ahmed sympathize with IPMAN on the death of three of their members. He stated that the death is painful, shocking and unfortunate. Governor Ahmed said the three IPMAN members were employers of labour with deep impact in the provision of job opportunities to the people.
He? noted that the forth person who was reportedly hit by a learner-driver in a shop was also a contributor to Kwara State's economy in her own way.
The governor prayed Allah to grant the deceased eternal rest and the families the fortitude to bear the loss.
The IPMAN members reportedly lost their lives when their car lost control on Oke-Oyi section of Ilorin-Old Jebba Road, while the fourth deceased was hit by a driver in her shop along the same road.
