A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje, has called on Christians to emulate the virtues of Jesus Christ by living peacefully and harmoniously with adherents of other religions.

Baraje gave the admonition in a statement to felicitate with Christian faithful on the occasion of Christmas celebration.

The APC Chieftain called for unity of purpose, peaceful co existence, harmonious relationship and fervent prayers to end the current crisis Nigeria is facing.

He asked both Muslim and Christian clerics to intensify efforts by preaching against act of terrorism and violence in order to make the society safe for all to live.

Also, the Nigeria Ambassador to the Netherlands, Dr Nimota Akanbi, in her Christmas message, charged parents to inculcate good value in their children to safeguard them from being used by desperate politicians as agents of destruction.

Akanbi preached peaceful and harmoniously co existence among Muslims and Christian faithful, saying that what Nigeria needs at this time is peace, commitment and prayers of all citizens.

Also in a statement, the Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Justice, Dr Ali Ahmad, congratulated Christians on Christmas celebration and prayed God to use the occasion to bless Nigeria with good governance and peace in the coming year.
