Kwara NDLEA Arrests 81 For Drug Trafficking, Addiction In 2014
Over 81 alleged illicit drug dealers and addicts have been arrested at different locations across Kwara State between January and December, 2014 by the state command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
The state commander of the agency, Mr Olusegun Kolawole Oke told newsmen in Ilorin that some of the offenders were arrested at various joints while others were caught on transit following intelligence reports from members of the society.
The NDLEA boss further stated that 40 of those apprehended were given orientation and rehabilitated while others were charged to court for prosecution on illicit drugs.
He lamented the high rate at which cannabis and other hard drugs were been consumed especially by youths in the state, calling on parents to closely monitor their children's movement.
Oke said, "The parents should close ranks with their children and play their parental roles towards their wards and train them on the right path to make them useful to themselves and the society."
