Kwara State Governor, Alhaji  Abdulfatah Ahmed has advised Christians to use the period of Christmas to preach national unity, love and understanding as ways of healing the pains and anguish in the land.
Governor Ahmed, who also advised that the period should be used to pray for peace noted that Christians should use the yuletide as a season of showing love, especially to the needy.

Ahmed in his Christmas message   said  that Nigerians must always project the virtues of humility, self denial and brotherliness, which are the hallmarks of the teachings of Christianity and other religions.
Ahmed assured the people of the state that his administration remains committed to fairness and equity to all adherents of faiths as well as the realization of the objectives of the Shared Prosperity Programme designed to transform the State into one of the most industrial and economically virile states in the country.

Also yesterday, the Speaker of the state’s House of Assembly, Hon. Razak Atunwa and former governor of the state, Senator Bukola Saraki appealed to the people of the state especially the Christians to use the celebration of the Yuletide to pray for the unity and oneness of the nation.
The duo in a separate Christmas messages   said that the period should also use to pray for the return of peace to North-Eastern part of the country.
They however called on the people of the country to shun all forms of attitude capable of affecting the peaceful co-existence of the country.

Meanwhile, a chieftain of All Progressives Congress(APC) and former Secretary to the State Government(SSG) Alhaji AbdulGaniyu Olododo has appealed to the people of Okelele in Ibagun ward in Ilorin East local government council of the state to eschew any act capable of disrupting the existing peaceful co-existence of the state.
