Kwara Utd's promotion bid now wobbly
Kwara United's hope of getting a promotion ticket back to the Glo Premier League this term in the National League has been decimated, supersport.com can report.
The NFF appeals committee awarded Ranchers Bees three points and three goals for their abandoned NNL Week 24 tie at already relegated Nigeria Prisons FC.
Prisons FC were punished for encroachment and battering of players and officials of Ranchers Bees and even the match officials in the said duel in Abuja.
The NFF appeal committee's decision to give Ranchers Bees the boardroom points has now crushed the hope of Kwara United's promotion quest as the Afonja Warriors would need to win in Kaduna this weekend to have any chance of landing back a spot in top flight football.
As it stands on the NNL Division A log, Ranchers Bees have moved to the top of the standings with 52 points, while Wikki Tourists, who have already gotten a promotion ticket, occupy second position with 50 points.
Kwara United are third on the standings with 49 points, and they would do themselves a lot of good should they win this weekend against Ranchers Bees in Kaduna.
Ranchers Bees, on the other hand, now have their fate in their hands as a win at home against Kwara United would guarantee their promotion next season to the Premier League.
But Kwara fans themselves know that it would be a great task for them to win in Kaduna this weekend.
