'High prices of nomination forms will discourage credible candidates'

Date: 2014-11-11

The Labour Party (LP) in Kwara State has called for the downward review of prices of nomination forms.

Secretary of the party in the state, Comrade AbdulKareem Onagun, noted that the exorbitant fees will discourage credible candidates from indicating interest in the elections.

Speaking with newsmen in Ilorin, he said the Labour Party was given the form free to women and physically challenged persons.

Onagun said the party was working with the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) to ensure that more workers keyed into the party.

He commended the Vice President of the NLC, Comrade Issa Aremu, for his support.

He said defection of Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State from the party will not affect its chances in the elections.
