Kwara 2015: Ibrahim promises good leadership

Date: 2014-10-21

Ilorin-based industrialist and Chairman of Lubcon Oil, Alhaji Jani Ibrahim has said he is prepared to give correct leadership to Kwara State, not based on the distribution of token gifts to the populace.

Ibrahim, who spoke as he formally signified his intention to contest the Kwara State 2015 governorship election by picking the governorship form of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Ibrahim, who said he is prepared to offer leadership that the people of Kwara State are clamouring for, also dismissed insinuations of an anointed candidate predetermined by the leadership of the party.

"Our people hunger for a political upheaval and for the privilege and honour to have a say in who governs them. They want to elect a leader they desire not because he distributes gifts and privileges but because of a proven track record of performance in managing people and resources. I live and work in Kwara so I understand most of the challenges and the strategies to address them," the aspirant said.

"We have no anointed candidate in Kwara PDP and I can assure you that every candidate will have a level playing field as we have no Godfather problem in the party," he stated.

He also added that Kwarans are now rooting for a change in leadership and that PDP is poised to take back the State and provide quality leadership.
