Governor AbdulFatah Ahmed of Kwara has requested the state House of Assembly to confirm the appointment of Mr Emmanuel Kolo as the new Auditor General for Local Governments.

The Governor made the request in a message to the House read by the Speaker, Mr. Razak Atunwa.

Ahmed said the request for confirmation was in conformity with section 128 sub section one of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The Speaker directed the nominee to submit copies of his credentials to the Clerk of the House before the close of work today and appear for screening tomorrow.

Also during Tuesday plenary, the Deputy Speaker, Prof Gana Yissa while seconding a motion for an adjournment castigated metrological agencies for heavy downpour which caused flood in several parts of the country.

He alleged that the metrological agencies failed to give adequate information on weather changes to avert disaster.

The Deputy Speaker stressed the need for metrological agencies to give accurate weather forecast for farmers to have bumper harvest.
