No Confirmed Ebola Case in Ilorin

The Kwara State Government has debunked rumours of a case of the Ebola Virus disease in Ilorin.

Dr Muideen Akorede, the Senior Special Assistant, Media and Communication, to the Kwara State Governor in an email reply to our enquiry said there is no confirmed case of Ebola Disease in Ilorin.

The statement reads: "Reports of an Ebola Disease case in Kwara State are based on rumours and should be disregarded. There is no confirmed case in Kwara State. Meanwhile, government has put all necessary measures in place to protect the public against this scourge."

Contrary to rumours stating the hospital mentioned in the rumour was closed, our reporter was there at 9.40 pm and it was open. Patients and visitors were seen entering the hospital and others were seated in the waiting room waiting to be attended to by doctors.
