Group Asks Saraki to Contest 2015 Presidential Election
A Non-Governmental Organisation, the Nigeria Need Positive Change Group (NNPCG), has called on the Chairman, Senate Committee on Environment and Ecology, Senator Bukola Saraki, to contest the 2015 presidential election.
The group which is based in Ilorin, Kwara State capital, appealed to Saraki to in the interest of salvaging Nigeria, take a shot at the presidency in the next year's general election.
The NNPCG in a statement signed by its national coordinator, Alhaji Mas'ud Adebimpe Aluko, and made available to journalists in Ilorin yesterday, described Saraki as 'architect of modern Kwara' and a worthy senator, representing Kwara Central senatorial district in the National Assembly.
It noted that going by the former governor's proven track record of achievements, he "represents the future hope of our country and somebody like him should, for the interest of our dear country, take a shot at the presidency of this great country and safe Nigerians and Nigeria from imminent and glaring catastrophe threatening our nationhood."
It added: "NNPCG strongly believes in his (Saraki) ability and with the records of his unprecedented achievements and transformation he brought to state of harmony, Kwara state, as well as his outstanding performances so far at the National Assembly are enough evidence of his ability to lead this country out of the wood.
"Today the crop of leaders saddled with the responsibility of providing leadership have shown incompetence, cluelessness and ineptitude which make the future of our dear country look bleak.
"The progressive minds across the country should plead with this symbol of generational change, a performer per excellence to please come forward to lead our country to the next level and rescue our country from the hands of these broad incompetent leaders who are hell bent in milking our country to her grave"
