KWSG to establish Emergency Corps
This was disclosed by the Hon. Commissioner for Information and Communications in the State, Prince Olatunji Moronfoye at a press briefing after the State’s maiden Executive Council meeting.
According to him, the Agency when established would comprise the police, fire service officials and some health personnel, who would be equipped to combat emergency situations which may eventually lead to disasters.
Speaking further, Prince Moronfoye disclosed that Council also agreed on re-branding the State with a view to re-packaging it, pointing out that the re-branding project would not stop the previous programme of the last administration but will be used as platforms to further attract more investors to the State.
Speaking on the present level of Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) in the State, the Commissioner said government would soon embark on huge revenue drive especially in tourism through Public-Private-Partnership (PPP), to raise the economic development of the State, which he also referred to as "re-branding".
The office of the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Moronfoye said is already working on a draft bill to give legal backing to the proposed Agency when it becomes fully operational.
