Kwara Police Warn Residents Against Lynching Suspected Kidnappers

Kwara State Police Commissioner, Mr. Ambrose Aisaabor has warned residents of the state against employing jungle justice over reported cases of lynching some suspected kidnappers by irate mobs in the state.

At least five persons suspected to be kidnappers had been set ablaze by irate mobs in the state without trial and conviction.

The development according to THISDAY checks has been giving the state police command a source for concern.

Speaking with journalists in Ilorin yesterday, Aisabor said that, "enough is enough of jungle justice on suspected kidnappers in Kwara".

According to him, "I want to warn Kwara residents to stop any form of indeterminate killing of innocent souls in the state on the cover of being a suspected kidnappers.

"If you see such suspected kidnappers, police command must be informed and the police would take over the matter for proper investigations.

"The state police command would not allow anybody to kill anybody without proper facts or evidence established on the alleged involvement of such suspected kidnappers in the state".

He stressed that the state was known for peace and the police command would not allow it to change so as to enhance the socio well being of the populace. 

While calling the people of the state to go about their normal duties, Aisabor assured residents that the police command would continue to do their best in the quest to maintain law and order in the state.
