Press Release - Severance Allowance: PDP is ignorant. - Kwara APC
The APC in a statement by its Interim Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Buhari Olatunji said it is worrisome that the PDP could wallow in ignorance by claiming that the federal government had released en block money for the payment of severance allowance. The PDP by this despicable act has shown that it does not comprehend the concept of federalism.
What business does the federal government have with the local government administration as to offset the severance allowance of councillors, Olatunji asked.
By their action the PDP has shown, once again to the good people of Kwara State that it lacks the required capacity and passion for governance. A party that condemns legitimate payment of severance allowance to councillors will, if it given the privilege not pay the salaries and allowances of workers.
It is equally a pity that the PDP is patently lazy and lack proper understanding of the art of governance by its position on the proposed N23billion bond the state wants to process.
Let the PDP cohorts know that the normal parliamentary procedure is that the legislature will subject the N23billion bond request to public hearing where all the people of the State will air their views on the issue.
The APC therefore calls on the PDP to wake up to the reality that the party has woefully failed Nigerians and cannot be trusted any longer with power.
According to Olatunji, the APC administration in the State remains one of the few that pays workers salaries as at when due and promises to continue its people focus programme.
