APC Is Occupying Kwara Govt. House Illegally, Says PDP
The Chairman of PDP in Kwara, Chief Iyiola Oyedepo, on Tuesday said All Progressives Congress (APC) was occupying Kwara Government House illegally and should be prepared to quit.
Oyedepo said this in Ilorin at the swearing in of elected chairmen and executive committee members of PDP in 15 Local Government Areas.
News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Chairman of Ilorin West Local Government Area, Women Leader and Ex-Officio members in Oyun Local Government were not sworn in.
Oyedepo said they would take the oath of office later.
Oyedepo said his mandate as PDP chairman in the state was to return the party to government by winning all elections in the state.
According to him, he is giving the APC quit notice as it is running the affairs of Kwara with stolen mandate.
"The mandate of PDP that is now illegally in the custody of the APC shall soon be recovered.
He said the occupants of the government house were living on borrowed times with stolen mandate.
"Therefore, I urge our members to get set for new elections, as Kwara people may be called for elections earlier than 2015", Oyedepo said.
The chairman appealed to all aggrieved members of the party to bury the hatchet and work as a team, saying that the task ahead of the party was enormous.
Oyedepo, in the address titled: "Kwara 2014 Congress: No Victor No Vanquished," said the main task of the PDP executive in the state was to make history by winning 2015 elections.
He said he would soon set up a committee under the chairmanship of State Legal Adviser to look into all complaints from the conduct of primaries right from ward to state levels.
He assured members and chieftains that all forms of disagreements in the party would end on or before May 15.
Oyedepo reminded executive committee members that they were all elected for the purpose of winning elections and not to advance the narrow interest of individuals.
"Whosoever is aspiring to elective office in the next general elections should work hard to earn the respect, commitment and endorsement of party delegates in the next primaries", he said. (NAN)
