Opinion - Re: Their Word, Our Sword. By Mustapha Hakeem Alanboy

The writer of the article Their Word, Our Sword, Abubakar Baba Sulaiman, is indeed a clown for always thinking that those he communicates to cannot reason beyond their nose. With all the info he provided in his unnecessarily lengthy piece, have his words not succeeded in becoming our sword? Has he not given us more insights to their internal intricacies? He is indeed garrulous. If I were his pay-master, I would have asked him to shot-up. He knows next to nothing in the game.

Before I go further, let me state emphatically that Abubakar Sulaiman disappoints me. Does he think we don’t know how he blocks people from commenting under his posts? If all he tells are truth, why must he be selective of those who will respond to his post? The game is to paint the picture that many people hates Saraki while many likes his pay-master. All this we know. But that is deceit, misleading and treacherous. This is antithetical to your fine names. ABUBAKAR is the first SAHABA and the closest to the HOLY PROPHET (SAW). He’s known for his truthfulness and sincerity. That is why those who bear the name are often referred to as Sidiq “Abu Olododo” by the Yorubas. Sulaiman was a wealthy PROPHET OF ALLAH who was highly revered for his generosity and contentment. Combining these two names should have reflected in your character. Alas!

While I have no objection to the political party you belong, even when you tried to convince or confuse those who are dull enough to believe that you are not a member of PDP, you should always tell your stories the way they really are without unnecessarily misleading people. Are these the kinds of people we expect to dominate the government house and decide our affairs should PDP emerge in the next election? God forbid bad thing! People who will surround and possess the governor like their private property and tell him those who voted for him are now his enemies.

Ordinarily, I wouldn’t have bothered to respond to your watery piece in which you succeeded in letting us realize the sharp contrast between Oba, Gbemi and Belgore; but your boldness to falsely link me with those who celebrated the outcome of your party-congress was an act of megalomania. Moreover, if the birds have learnt to fly without perching, the hunters have equally learnt to shoot without ceasing. My being away from the country doesn’t mean I’m not aware of the happenings in my dear state. Thanks to the global village in which the world has become.

I’ve told you before and I’ll reiterate here that your pay-master is an empty Prof. He believes his divide and rule tactics will win him votes. He thinks we don’t know he’s the one behind the rumour that Gbemi is spying for Buky in PDP? We know how he operates. He’s merely painting the dog black, so that it can be roasted. He was equally behind Gbemi’s inability to secure the ministerial job till now. Do you think she’s stupid enough not to know? Have you not seen that Oba Abu’s emptiness and zero knowledge of politics have been manifested by how he was cheaply outsmarted by Belgore and Gbemi? If truly he was visited by the duo after the congress and Belgore referred to him as a good leader, then he needs to watch his back. “Awon kan fe pe were l’koyawo nifah” so that he can let go. It’s quite unfortunate he was not patient enough to learn the intrigues of the game before he ran away from his original master to a stranger who doesn’t have his time.

My friend, read your article over again, you will find out you’ve cheaply made us understand that you’re not a freedom fighter after all, but a paid agent to make your Prof appear superior to others. In your piece, imagine a self-acclaimed celebrated writer like you referring to those who lost their lives in your controversial ward congress (with no sympathy) as if they were rats. It may be important to quote the very way you put it for the avoidance of doubt “it is no more news that there were skirmishes here and there and deaths were recorded.” What a party, what a people, what a writer!

So your boss is now after Gbemi? Or what do you mean by "anpe lawe on laro ninu"? Imagine you telling us Abdulrahaman dashed, offered or bribed Gbemi with 9m naira! What kind of picture are you painting? You are out to make us believe that Gbemi and Bucky are one, so as to reduce those who’ll wrestle tickets with your master? You know what? Your master is a selfish being, “Agbalagba t’on se langba langba ni”, he’ll never give way for Dele or support Gbemi, he wants everything for himself. He wants to be governor then leader and have access to our resources. Whereas, he lacks the necessary attributes: such as patient, contentment, maturity and intelligence to rule. Tell me where he has ever ruled without crisis. I’ve never in my life seen a Prof parading thugs like him. What a Prof! We don’t want Kwara to be turned or reversed back to 2002/2003 era.

All self-defined attributes of who will be the governor in your article fits no one but Oba Abu- for instance, “The one who will occupy the seat might not have even held an elective post before, he might be the one that have lost election in the past or the one denied the right of franchise, he might be the one that has been vilified and stigmatised in the past so unjustly, he might be the one who is most hated and labelled by the opposing side for fear of his influence and finally, he might be the one who isn't even seen to have enough money to prosecute the election.” With all these blabbing, we now realize that your freedom is Oba Abu; and any other individual in that camp or party is a strayed dog. Should Oba leave PDP today for another party, you will defiantly follow. Spare me Mr. freedom fighter!
