Press Release: Kwara PDP Passes 'Vote of no Confidence' on Gov. Ahmed
This condemnation is the true reflection of the minds of the entire people of the state whose mandate the Kwara APC has mortgaged by embarking on endless bond sourcing with no genuine reasons, all with the motives of impoverishing and liquidating the financial base of the state.
Once again, it is obvious that Kwara State under the leadership of the desperate APC chieftains cannot achieve anything meaningful without approaching either money or capital markets for bonds which will eventually spread on the periods that will even out-leave them in government.
To be precise, Kwarans in their large numbers said in a very loud ovation that they are tired of governance without probity, adequacy and transparency. The APC government that has earlier applied for the sum N 30 billion loan as reflected in its 2014 budget proposal, has also sought for additional N 23 billion loan after it has succeeded in borrowing the sum of N 150 million for Kwara Express through Harmony Holdings Limited even though, it failed to account for the over N 540 million income of the Corporation.
It is now crystal clear that the APC is frustrated and also desperately in dear need of funds to finance its numerous activities and therefore resolved to borrowing money with little or no decorum and consideration of its implications on the well-being of the masses as well as the finances of the in-coming government.
Why can't Kwara State government borrow leafs from states whose federal allocation fell in its categories and still performs wonderfully well in the delivery of the dividends of democracy even without taking a dime from banks either in forms of bond or the likes?
We in Kwara PDP have discovered that the APC government in Kwara State is grossly misappropriating tax payers' funds by pursuing shadow-like policies, it is our decision to pass vote of no confidence on Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed and the entire APC leadership even as we demand explanations on the debt status of the state.
PDP however urge Kwarans not to relent in their perseverance and steadfastness even in the face of intimidation towards ensuring the freedom of the state from all sorts of financial bondage and slavery as orchestrated by the cabals whose stock in trade is outright misappropriation of public funds.
Hon. Solomon Edojah, Chairman Caretaker Committee, Kwara PDP.
