Kwara Assembly passes N130bn budget
The Kwara State House of Assembly yesterday passed into law the 2014 Appropriation Bill presented by Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed in December last year. The budget size of N130.2 billion was unanimously passed by members of the assembly after considering the 84-page report of the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation.
It was however increased by N5.7billion or 4.61 per cent as against the N124 billion submitted by the governor while the new budget size is N130.2billion. Speaker of the House, Barrister Razak Atunwa, said the budget was passed having satisfied the 1999 constitution and the rules of the House. He however directed the Clerk, Elder Ayotunde Oyeniyi, to prepare a neat copy of the bill for the governor's assent.
