Press Release: Get Ready to Vacate Government House - Kwara PDP
To paraphrase late Ola Rotimi in his book, The Gods Are Not Blame, A snail may wants to cast off it's shell, but it cannot, because it is made natural.
Kwara APC-led government has forgotten that an average Kwaran's sensibility and intelligence is beyond imagination. The exhibition by an average Kwara of maximum patience, understanding and maturity should not be taken for granted. They are very much conscious of their trade-mark of perpetual deceit, cheap blackmail, recklessness, stereotype propaganda, manipulations and humanitarian abuses.
When the news of purported threats and intimidation for irresponsible recalling Sen. Sule Ajibola from the National Assembly and Hon. Iliyasu Ibrahim from the Kwara State House of Assembly broke out on the state local media (Radio Kwara) and The Herald newspapers, many of us were not taken by surprise.
Kwarans before now are aware of their hallmark of the sue of faceless underdogs, miscreants, vagabonds and rascals to demonstrate their political meritocracy.
We have all seen it all. 2003 to date is sufficient enough to expose the catalogue of the leadership's series of cheap lies, mischievousness, undue blackmails, intimidation, propaganda, threats, phobia for team work, transparency, accountability, due process, responsiveness and dictatorial inclinations and tendencies.
It was out of desperation, and still living in a fools paradise that led to the printing and circulation of a one-page flier entitled: AKPABIO'S N250 MILLION LOOT TEARS KWARA CRISIS-RIDDEN PDP APART. To us, this is entirely falsehood and as a formidable and focused party, we refute it in its entirety.
Our question to you is that; What has happened to the salaries of staff of College of Arabic and Islamic Legal Studies, (CAILS), Colleges of Education and other higher institutions in the state even as students are being continuously exploited?
Also what has happened to allocations of Local Government Areas in the state as they were rendered inefficient and redundant at the expenses of vast majority of the electorates?
Why are our indigenous contractors not patronized for project execution as serious poverty rift about everywhere?
Kwarans have known you before now and therefore, there is no point joining issues with you. The day is gone, and the night is far spent, the preparation to vacate the Kwara State Government House come 2015 by the Grace of God should start in earnest.
Instead of dissipating your energy on pettiness, please kindly use the left over to impact positively on the socio-political and economic life of Kwarans. We in Kwara PDP wish you what you wish yourself.
Mohammed Mariam Alhassan
Publicity Secretary Kwara PDP
