Ahmed vows to transform Kwara
In his bids to actualize the transformation of Kwara State from a core civil servant state to an economic driven environment, Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed, has invited investors, especially Kwarans in Lagos to come home and contribute to the industrial growth and economic emancipation of the State.
Speaking at an interactive session with indigenes of the state who are professionals based in Lagos, the governor assured prospective investors in the State that allied sectors vital for industrial growth such as education and human capital development were receiving utmost attention.
Governor Ahmed's spokesperson, Alhaji Abdulwahab Oba, in a statement, said that an international Vocational Institute would be established at Ajasse-Ipo to train high level quality technical personnel not only for the industrial sector in the State, but the international community as well.
According to him, "It is disheartening that Nigerians now look up to other West African brothers for some technical jobs because they have better expertise than our people. This will change when the institute takes off in earnest."
Governor Ahmed however assured that his administration's pursuit of development of agriculture in the state was borne out of the conviction that it has potentials of enhancing economic power base of the people and the creation of vast employment opportunities for the people.
He therefore urged Kwarans outside the State to partner his administration in the development of the State.
In his remarks, chairman of the union, Prince Kolade said: "As professionals in all fields of human endeavour, my members have volunteered to partner with the government in the development of the State.
