Kwara CAN, Muslim group task FG over insecurity The Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria, Kwara State chapter, Dr. James Foloranmi and the Chairman, Committee of Muslim Organisations, Kwara State, Prof. Shehu Jimoh on Sunday condemned the bomb explosions that rocked Kano State on Friday. Foloranmi in a telephone appealed to the federal government to take urgent, decisive and pragmatic strategies to address the recurring attacks in some northern states by terrorists. He warned that people might lose confidence in the Federal Government if the spate of insecurity remained unchecked. He also appealed to leaders in the northern part of Nigeria to be more active and more genuinely involved in finding solution to the lingering security challenges in the areas. He said, "It is a pity. The bomb blasts are uncalled for. I would advise the northern elders and the authorities to gather and proffer solution to what is happening. It is unethical, ungodly and immoral. "The people live among them, they should know them. "The Federal Government should do more to arrest the growing insecurity, otherwise people will lose confidence in the leadership because the primary duty of the Nigerian leadership or authority is to ensure the security of the citizens. If they are failing in that, what else will they do? We are not even talking of infrastructure, security is paramount now. The federal government should do more and they have all within their reach to do more. "I think the northern leaders should do more. I will not say that they have not been doing something, but they should do more." Jimoh said the Federal Government should urgently address insecurity, adding that the blasts, the consequent deaths and destruction of property were becoming highly unbearable. He urged the government to investigate, identify and bring to book people who are aiding and abetting the Boko Haram group that have been identified as being behind most of the blasts.
