Man Killed Over Proposed Bride In Ilorin

Two farmers, Wahab Baboni, 22 and Abu Saka, 20, both of Budo Baka area of Kwara State have been arraigned before an Ilorin Magistrate's court for allegedly killing a man, Woru Bere, over a woman.

The suspects were said to have killed Woru Bere because of a disagreement over a woman he proposed to marry.

They were dragged before the court on two-count charge of criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide contrary to sections 97 and 221 of penal code law.

According to the police first information report (FIR), the suspects killed their victim as a result of contention on who would marry Azumi Alhassan.

The police prosecutor, Inspector Kareem Jimoh prayed the court to remand the accused in prison custody after opposing their bail application.

The trial magistrate, J.O Michael refused to take the plea of the accused for lack of jurisdiction.

He ordered that the accused be remanded at Okekura Prison custody and adjourned the case till November 11 for mentioning.
