Senator Saraki Commiserate With Belgore Family

Date: 2012-04-22

Chairman Senate committee of environment and ecology, Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has commiserated with the former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Alfa Belgore over the death of his wife, Hajiya Fatima Belgore, who died at the early hours of Thursday.

Senator Saraki, who is representing Kwara Central senatorial district at the National Assembly while paying a condolence visit to the Belgore family on Friday, described the death of Hajiya Belgore as shocking especially on the eve of her son's wedding.

Saraki said: "This is indeed a great loss not only to the family of the eminent jurist, the good people of Ilorin Emirate, but to Nigeria at large."

The lawmaker however admonished Justice Belgore to take solace in the fact that Hajiya Fatimah lived an eventful and transparent life. While praying Allah to grant the deceased eternal rest, Saraki further prayed Almighty Allah to grant the deceased Alijanat firdaous and the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
