Police warn against political violence in Kwara

Date: 2015-02-14

The Kwara State Police Command has called for peaceful conduct among politicians and their supporters in the forthcoming general elections, warning that there would be zero tolerance for violence.

The command had invited the politicians upon intelligence gathered revealing increase in rate of political thuggery and hooliganism in the ongoing electioneering period.

Speaking at the event, the Commissioner of Police, Salihu Garba, said security reports had indicated that some of those involved in the act of violence are based in the state, while some “are imported to the state to unleash terror on innocent people.”

He, therefore, said that there would be no sacred cow in the drive of the  command towards ensuring zero tolerance to all forms of violence.
