Mrs Ahmed organizes prayer for former Kwara's first lady
A special prayer was held at the Government House, Ilorin, the state capital, to mark the forty-ninth birthday ceremony of the former First Lady of Kwara State, Barrister Toyin Saraki.
The prayer which was held on Monday at the instance of Wife of the State Governor, Mrs Omolewa Ahmed, had in attendance members of the Kwara State Officials Wives Association (KWASOWA) and various women groups.
Leading the prayer session, Hajia Muslimah Olaniyan of Jamuiyyat Istijaabah Society of Nigeria prayed Allah to continue to give Barrister Toyin Saraki sound health for the promotion of women and children related issues.
Olaniyan also prayed for the sustenance of the Saraki family and the entire people of Kwara State.
In her remarks, Wife of the State Governor, Mrs. Omolewa Ahmed, congratulated the former first lady on her birthday anniversary and commended her for using her resources in touching lives of the vulnerable groups in the society.
Mrs Ahmed who spoke through wife of the Deputy Governor, Mrs. Felicia Kisira, explained that her office had continued to sustain the legacies left by Mrs. Saraki through the Adotp-a-Child programme, free cancer screening and other programmes geared toward promoting the welfare of women and children.
Also speaking, the state PDP Women Leader, Hajia Muslimah Ibrahim, extolled the virtues of Mrs. Saraki and prayed to Allah spare her life.
