Kwara Governor Pledges to Support New Police Commissioner

The Kwara state governor, Abdulfattah Ahmed has pledged his continuous support to the security agencies in the state in a bid to sustain the existing peace and harmony in the state.

Governor Ahmed made the pledge while receiving the new commissioner of police, Agboola Oshodi Glover in his office at Government House Ilorin.

He promised that the state government would leave no stone unturned to accord him logistics and other necessary support and  described the current security challenges in the country as very unfortunate adding that community policing should be a collective responsibility of all and sundry.

Responding, the new commissioner of police pledged the readiness of his command to consolidate on the peaceful co-existence in the state.

The former commissioner, Late Mr. Chinwike Asadu, was shot dead by unknown gunmen while on a private visit to Enugu his home state.

The police commissioner was shot when he was about entering his house at Amorji-Nike, near the densely populated Abakpa Enugu.

His police orderly, Aloha Olaniyi and driver, Oliver Omeh, who were with him at the time of the incident sustained serious bullet wounds and are said to be lying critically at the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Enugu.
