Unilorin Don Solicits Support for Faculty of Law in Students' Admission
The Dean of Faculty of Law, University of Iloirn, Prof. Lanre Olatokunbo has called on individuals and private sector to assist in providing more facilities for the faculty in order to enable the faculty increase the number of students being admitted yearly.
Professor Olatokunbo who made the call during a press conference in preparation for the Fifth Anniversary Celebration of the Faculty said the department could only admit about 180 to 200 in the last session out of about 6000 students who applied to the faculty.
According to him, there a lot of good students who scored between two hundred and forty to two hundred and fifty, but due to inadequate facilities, the faculty have to select 260 and above as cut off mark.
While commending the University administrator for supporting the faculty, the professor explained that the anniversary was to celebrate the achievement of the faculty and solicit support from individuals and private sector, stressing that the university cannot do it alone.
Some dignitaries expected at the occasion are the Minister of Communication Technology, Mrs Omobola Johnson, the Director-General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Prof. Cleopas Angaye among others.
