Kwara State Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, Hajia Ramat Abaya, has commended Nigeria (Pro) Wrestling Federation for its untiring efforts towards using the game to promote unity among Nigerians.

She made the commendation when President of the Federation, Prince Olarewaju Mohammed, led a delegation to her office to present the Good Governance Award to the State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed.

Abaya stated that the award for Governor Ahmed is an indication that the good work he is doing in the state is not only appreciated by all Kwarans, but independent assessors and promised that a date for the official presentation of the award to the governor will be communicated to the wrestling federation.

Earlier, Mohammed said that the Federation decided to honour Ahmed because of his unrelenting efforts to give dividends of democracy to the people of Kwara, as well as the development projects he had embarked upon since assuming office. He stated that the Federation would continue to assess all the state governors periodically with a view of honouring outstanding ones.
