We'll Ensure United Remain on Top - Kwara
The Kwara State Government has restated its resolve and determination to keep its darling team, Kwara United on top of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) in the ongoing 2012/2013 season.
United has played five matches in the season out of which the team won two, drew two and lost one at the weekend.
Though the team suffered a 3-1 defeat to Rangers on Saturday, the State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed said the performance of the team has been impressive and urged it to sustain the tempo.
Speaking with newsmen in Ilorin, Ahmed attributed the performance of the team to incentives provided to players and managers, promising the government would do more to ensure United remains one of the top-rated teams in the country.
“We are interested in making them to remain on top, we will continue to create avenue to impact on incentives”, he said, adding the government would continue to improve all sports in the state.
