Aloma Ready for Ilorin Derby
ABS' defender, Idris Aloma has expressed confidence to supersport.com that his side would inflict a defeat on their city rivals, Kwara United this weekend.
The Saraki boys will kick off their campaign for the 2012/13 NPFL season at home against familiar foes, Kwara United at the Kwara State Stadium Ilorin.
Last term in the same corresponding fixture, the tie ended in a stalemate but Aloma is now positive that the Afonja Warriors would not escape on Sunday.
"They were lucky to have got a draw against us last season when we played at home as you know that we are using the same Stadium.
"But the pain of the lesson we taught them in the second leg is still in their body as we beat them in front of their fans.
"Kwara United are not a threat to us or their fans as we want to start the season on a bright note.
"We know how to handle them (Kwara United) and we have even promised our financier a victory on Sunday," Aloma explained to supersport.com.
The 21-year-old former Babanawa FC skipper has also set up a target of one goal for himself against the Afonja Warriors on Sunday.
"I scored the winning goal against them last season when we played under floodlight and I am ready to punish them again," he added.
ABS are currently in Lokoja where they are expected to complete their pre-season tourney later on Thursday before returning to Ilorin on Friday.
