Date: 2026-07-24

The Emir of Ilorin and Life Patron of the Ansarul Islam Society of Nigeria (AISN), Dr Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has urged the newly elected National Executive Council of the Society to uphold the ideals and legacy of its founder, Sheikh Muhammad Kamaldeen Al-Adaby.

The Emir gave the charge while receiving the newly elected national executives during a courtesy visit to his palace in Ilorin, Kwara State.

He called on the new leadership to remain committed to the propagation of Islam, the promotion of moral values and selfless service to humanity, noting that these principles remain the foundation upon which the Society was established.

The royal father stressed that unity, dedication and exemplary leadership are essential to advancing the objectives of Ansarul Islam, praying that Allah grants the new executives wisdom, strength and success in the discharge of their responsibilities.

He also offered prayers for the continued growth of the Society and the success of its new leadership.

Responding, the newly elected National President of the Society, Alhaji Sarafadeen Alabelewe, thanked the Emir for his fatherly guidance, support and prayers.

He assured the monarch that the new leadership would remain committed to the vision of the founding fathers and work diligently to promote Islamic education, foster peace and contribute to national development through the Society's activities.

Alabelewe emerged as National President during the 51st National Delegates Conference of the Ansarul Islam Society of Nigeria, held last Saturday at Muhammad Kamalud-deen University (MKU), Ogidi, Ilorin.

At the conference, Alhaji Abdulmumeen Hanafi Ayarah Al-Adabiy was returned as Life National Missioner, Professor Abdulbaki Abdulraheem was elected General Secretary, while Alhaji Gesua Abdulyekeen emerged as the National Public Relations Officer.

In his acceptance speech, Alabelewe expressed appreciation to delegates for the confidence reposed in the new executive and commended the immediate past National Executive Council for its contributions to the growth of the Society.

He particularly praised the outgoing leadership for the successful establishment of Muhammad Kamalud-deen University, Ilorin, describing the institution as a landmark achievement in the educational advancement of Ansarul Islam and a testament to the enduring vision of its founder.

The National President pledged that the new executive would build on the achievements of its predecessors by strengthening the Society's educational and missionary programmes, promoting unity among members and advancing the ideals of Ansarul Islam across Nigeria and beyond.

The conference attracted delegates from across the country and concluded with prayers for peace, unity and the continued progress of the Society.
