Ilorin West LG Chairman Delivers Transformers, NSCDC Office, Hospital and Boreholes
The Executive Chairman of Ilorin West Local Government, Mallam Shehu AbdulRahman Babatunde Ladan, has delivered a series of multimillion-naira projects aimed at improving critical infrastructure and enhancing the well-being of residents across the local government.
The commissioned projects include the full installation of new transformers, the construction of a new NSCDC office, a health facility, new motorized boreholes, and the construction of drainage systems across the wards in Ilorin West.
At Aleniboro Estate, Warra area, Hon. Ladan installed high-capacity transformers to enhance the electricity supply for the community. He also commissioned the newly installed transformer at Shooto community in Ubandawaki Ward. The Chairman extended similar intervention to Ita-Kudimo community with a new transformer to ease electricity challenges within the community.
A new NSCDC office was also constructed at Eruda in the Baboko area to promote security in the region. The divisional office is fully furnished and equipped.
At Odokun, the Chairman commissioned a new public hospital facility equipped with essential health services equipment. In addition, long drainage systems were constructed at Gbagba in Warra Egbejila Ward and Osin Community in Oke-Erin to curb erosion and flooding.
He also commissioned new motorized boreholes at Ojuekun Zarumi Ward, Agbo-Oba in Badari Ward, and Oko-Erin area.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Mallam Ladan appreciated His Excellency Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, for his outstanding support towards his administration. He emphasised that the projects reflect his administration's commitment to delivering purposeful leadership and sustainable development across all wards of Ilorin West.
"These projects are not just structures; they are solutions to long-standing challenges in our communities," he said. "We are working to ensure that every ward in Ilorin West feels the impact of good governance."
The event was graced by the Kwara State Governor, ably represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Abubakar Abdullahi Bata, who applauded Hon. Ladan for his outstanding performance and commitment to community development.
"I am impressed by the quality and relevance of the projects being commissioned today. It shows clear vision, planning, and a sincere desire to improve lives. Ilorin West Chairman has demonstrated what local government leadership should be," the Commissioner stated.
The Ministry of Local Government delegates, LGA Vice Chairperson, Hon. Suliat Oyindamola, Council Secretary Hon. Saka Salman, supervisory councillors, Ilorin West DPM, LGT, HODs, legislative members led by Speaker Rt. Hon. Yusuf Aremu Ajia, Development Officer Hon. Abdullahi Fatai Ajia, political stakeholders, community leaders, youth groups, and residents who attended the ceremony expressed appreciation to the Chairman for his proactive leadership and developmental strides.
