Kwara Civil Service Begins 2024 Promotion Interview for Grade Levels 7 to 17
The Kwara State Civil Service Commission has commenced the 2024 promotion interview for civil servants on Grade Levels 7 to 17 across the state.
Speaking with journalists at the Commission's office, the Executive Chairman, Hajia Habibat Yusuf, said the mandatory exercise, which is designed to enable eligible civil servants to move to the next level, would last for four weeks.
According to Hajia Yusuf, over two thousand eligible officers are expected to participate in the interview, adding that about one hundred and sixty workers were attended to on the first day.
She explained that the entire promotion process comprises two components: a promotion examination which accounts for 60% of the score, and the interview, which accounts for the remaining 40%.
The Chairman issued a warning, stating that any officer who fails to attend the interview will have to repeat the entire process next year before being considered for promotion.
She emphasized that the exercise is not business as usual, noting that all eligible officers must undergo a rigorous assessment to qualify for advancement.
The Chairman also revealed that preparations for the 2025 promotion exercise would commence this week, pointing out that letters would be dispatched to Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to begin compiling the list of eligible officers.
Hajia Habibat Yusuf urged all civil servants to remain dedicated and committed to their duties, while commending Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his continuous support and prompt approval of promotion exercises for state civil servants.
